Weekend at the Lake

Sophie Says Fashion + Beauty Blog | WET Swimwear Bikini at Lake George

Today, I’m freaking out.

Today is my last Monday going to work and really the last true Monday of my #SummerSixteen (I know that was lame but I like the alliteration haha). I will be at home still next Monday, but I'm not counting it because on Tuesday I head up to school so the day before will be filled with organizing, packing, and planning. I am so so excited to go back to school, but it's a weird feeling going back as a senior. I think I'm ready for it?...I think? Half of me wants nothing more than to have already landed a job and be starting out my life in the real world, but the other half of me still feels like freshman year was yesterday and can't believe I'm almost done with the best four years of my life!

Here are some photographs from my weekend trip to Lake George a little while back! The weather was beautiful but only for a little while and after we spent this morning on our boat, we had to hurry up and get changed to go the the horse races in Saratoga.

#1 Dorm Essential

Sophie Says Fashion + Beauty Blog | 7th Heaven Face Masks #DormEssentials

Hi guys!

Tonight has been the best night so far! I have a long weekend coming up so I've been pampering, cosmetic shopping, and all kinds of fun stuff! I actually dyed my hair black tonight! Yes, you heard that right...BLACK! Right after, I went to Ulta and picked up the NYX version of Dip Brow to match my new hair color. I was a little disappointed because I wanted to get my brows tinted and groomed, but I was turned down at the Benefit Brow Bar because their only brow lady was out for the day. It all ended up working out though because when I got home I used the leftover dye from my hair and an unused spoolie to feather some into my brows... and they turned out fabulous! (I also saved $33!!) To finish out a wonderful evening, I applied one of my new favorite masks that can also be found at Ulta!!

Happy Friday!

I want to know, what are your thoughts on the Instagram update?? I'm not sure how I feel about the stories yet, because now I'm overwhelmed with how much social media I have to check every single day, but I do commend Instagram for their awesome filters and markers that you can write with! I also love how easy it is to watch everyone you follow's everyday life now. I never realized how many people I follow on Instagram that I don't follow on Snapchat! It's super cool to be able to get a peak into the behind the scenes of some bloggers and companies that I follow, and speaking of, did anyone get a chance to check out my Instagram Story yesterday? I was posting about two of the products that are saving my life right now, so let's get into this blog post and talk more about that and less about Instagram haha.

Pretty In Pink

Happy Monday!

How did everyone survive the heat this weekend? I don't know about you, but I had the most amazing past three days! My boyfriend came to visit me and took me out to such a nice sushi dinner on Friday, then we spent Saturday and Sunday exploring in my back yard. There's a creek that runs through our woods and we followed it all the way back to the swimming hole where we played catch with my dog for hours. We also put on our bathing suits (I wore a bikini top and my favorite Krass and Co. shorts) and cooled off while catching crayfish, 16 of them! It was so refreshing to hide out in the shade under the trees and it took me back to my childhood when I spent every single summer day back there with my two older sisters.

Hello hello!

Happy Tuesday after a holiday weekend! I hope none of you are suffering from a case of the Mondays today. I am super excited today because I finally get to share with you something that I have been working on since the beginning of summer! Decorating has always been something that I loved, in fact, when I was younger I used to think that I wanted to be an interior designer when I was all grown up. Although I chose another career path to pursue, I never lost that passion. I swear it drives my parents nuts because every summer I want to redecorate my room completely and every time I go back to school all I can think about is how I'm going to decorate my living space that year. I'm constantly asking my mom to come with me to HomeGoods and asking my dad for assistance on DIY projects. Bear with me on this post, it's a pretty long one, but I wanted to capture every detail of how I decorated my desk and gallery wall because I have a great appreciation for details and worked very hard to make this part of my room so beautiful. I hope you enjoy!

At Home Spa Day With Dip Into Pretty

Sophie Says Blog + Dip Into Pretty

Treat Yo Self

So the other day I decided to pamper myself and set up everything I would need for a spa day on my side porch! I have two of those Conair at home foot baths and my mom and I brought those outside then set up the coffee table with all luxury bath items to make us feel super fancy! We had flowers, bath bombs, bubble bath, rose petals, all of our recent favorite polishes, and of course our Dip Into Pretty Pedi Spacers because they have become a necessity when polishing our toes!
